An Interview with Myotherapist Eden Rochester

What made you decide to become a Myotherapist?  

I became a Myotherapist because I wanted to help people who were injured and suffering from those injuries. My mother has had a severe car accident and I wanted to be able to help her manage and understand her injuries.



For those not familiar with Myotheropy can you describe what it is you do?

Myotherapy is a form of manual therapy. Myotherapist vary in their qualifications and specialties. Many Myotherapist can use deep/soft tissue techniques, dry needling, joint mobilisation, cupping, exercise and stretch prescription, education and other modalities to try to help patients experiencing pain and injury.



In Clinical practice is there any special area of interest you like to support clients to manage?


Strengthening training, especially with women who are approaching osteoporosis

Jaw pain and TMJ syndrome

Neck pain and Headaches




What made you so passionate about supporting people in this area?


Exercise can be used to prevent as well as sometimes reverse the effects of osteoporosis. I really enjoy working with people in this space. As a clinical Myotherapist we have extensive training in exercise prescription and this is something I utilise with all of my patients where possible.


What are your personal interests outside of the clinic?

Family, friends, my dog, nature, food, boxing/UFC
