Elizabeth Ruach Myotherapy

An interview with our Clinical Myotherapist – Elizabeth Ruach

June 4, 2020

We are excited to welcome our newest member to the team Clinical Myotherapist – Elizabeth Ruach. So you can get to know Elizabeth we asked her some questions about Myotherapy and the areas she is passionate about in her treatments.

She is a wonderful addition to our team here at Essendon Natural Health.

What made you decide to be a Myotherapist

When I was younger, I had my heart set on becoming a lawyer. But things changed dramatically when I was 17-year-old when I started to take my athletics training seriously. However, with any sport it comes with the high risk of injuries. And I got badly injured in 2015 which ended my athletics season. I worked closely with myotherapist to recover from that injury I was so grateful for everything he did for me. And just like that I became a myotherapist too.

For those not familiar with Myotherapy can you describe what it is you do

Myotherapy is the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, which may cause muscular dysfunction, pain and a decrease in flexibility/movement. Myotherapist’s uses a variety of techniques including deep tissue massage, dry needling, trigger point therapy and myofascial release to treat a wide range of muscular conditions (acute, chronic and overuse injuries).

In clinical practice is there any special area of interest you like to support clients to manage?

I absolutely love managing sports injuries. I also find lower body very interesting so anything from lower back down.

Anything from SIJ disfunction, general lower back pain to plantar fasciitis and anything in between. Essentially I can treat any muscular-skeletal condition.

What made you so passionate about supporting people in this particular area?

Being an athlete myself, I can definitely resonate with other athletes especially when it comes to injury management.

(PS we’re all athletes in our own right- whether that’s playing sport, keeping up with the kids or getting through the day to day tasks)

I also just love Empowering, Educating & Motivating others about Health & Fitness.

What are your personal interests outside of the clinic?

Outside work, you’ll find me in a gym, athletics track or at a café eating an almond croissant with a large almond cappuccino.

Elizabeth is available for consultations on Monday and Wednesday each week, if you have more questions please call the clinic on 03 93378572 or you can book online.
