What made you decide to become an Acupuncturist and Herbalist?
Growing up with a father who’s a Chinese Medicine Doctor, I was surrounded by Chinese Medicine and its principles from an early age. However, it wasn’t until I had a personal experience with a car accident that I truly understood the power of this medicine. After months of conventional treatments that didn’t help, my father suggested acupuncture, and it was the only thing that brought me relief. That experience was life-changing—it opened my eyes to the incredible healing potential of Chinese Medicine and inspired me to follow in my father’s footsteps. I wanted to help others find the same relief and support that I experienced during that challenging time.
For those not familiar with Chinese Medicine, can you describe a little about what it is that you actually do?
Chinese Medicine is all about looking at the body as a whole, where everything—physical, emotional, and even spiritual—is connected. In my practice, I use acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, and cupping to help bring the body back into balance. Instead of just focusing on symptoms, I try to get to the root cause of health issues and create treatment plans that are personalised for each patient. I also offer lifestyle advice and education, which I believe is key in empowering my patients to take charge of their own health.
In Clinical practice is there any special area of interest you like to support clients to manage?
I have a strong interest in facial acupuncture and women’s health, especially when it comes to menstrual health, fertility, and pregnancy support. I also focus a lot on mental health because I see such a strong link between emotional well-being and physical health. Additionally, I help clients manage digestive issues, which I believe are crucial for overall balance in the body.
What made you so passionate about supporting people in this area?
My passion really comes from my own personal journey and seeing how transformative Chinese Medicine can be—not just for physical health, but for emotional and mental well-being too. I’m especially passionate about women’s health because Chinese Medicine offers such powerful support in areas like cycle regulation, fertility, and pregnancy. I love empowering women to understand their bodies and take control of their health. My experiences have taught me the importance of treating the whole person, and I’m dedicated to helping my patients find balance and wellness in all areas of their lives.
What are your personal interests outside of the clinic?
Outside of work, I love spending time in the kitchen, catching up on NBA, NFL, and UFC. Being an expat, I also enjoy exploring Melbourne—whether it’s trying out a new restaurant, visiting art exhibitions, or taking a trip out to rural Victoria.
